What is the Phoenix Home Internet Trial?  

We’re always looking for ways to give customers the best possible experience, so we’re inviting a select group of Home Internet customers in the Phoenix area to test new 5G Home Internet equipment, including an indoor gateway and outdoor wall mounted antenna.   

 Trial participants will be asked to:   

  • Use the new equipment as their primary internet source throughout the trial  
  • Perform a few speed tests to help us measure the performance of the new equipment   
  • Provide valuable feedback on the performance of the equipment and their overall experience   

 

Who is eligible to participate in the Phoenix Home Internet Trial?  

T-Mobile is sending invitations to select 5G Home Internet customers to participate in the Phoenix Home Internet Trial.  
 
To sign up for the trial, participants must:  

  • Receive an invitation from T-Mobile and be a current T-Mobile 5G Home Internet customer in the Phoenix, AZ area
  • Be willing to have an outdoor antenna mounted on an exterior wall of their home for the duration of the trial  
  • Have the authority to approve installation of the outdoor antenna, or receive approval from any necessary HOA organizations   

 

Will I receive any compensation for participating in the trial? 

Absolutely! Trial participants will get to try out this new equipment at no cost. Plus, T-Mobile will cover the cost of their existing Home Internet and Voice service during the trial period.   
 
As a special thank you, if participants remain active until the trial concludes in May 2025, they’ll receive a $500 virtual prepaid Mastercard.  
 

What's new about the home internet equipment being tested in Phoenix, and what can customers expect in terms of performance?   

We’re always looking for ways to enhance the Home Internet experience for customers. The new indoor Wi-Fi gateway and outdoor antenna could deliver faster Wi-Fi speeds and improved performance to trial participants.  

How will the equipment be installed?  

A T-Mobile authorized installer from Asurion will help install the new equipment. 
 
The outdoor antenna will be mounted to the outside of the home, which requires drilling a few small holes to secure the antenna, and running a cable to where the indoor gateway is setup.  

 

Will the Home Internet equipment be uninstalled after the trial? 

Yes, trial participants can schedule an appointment to have the outdoor antenna uninstalled after they’re finished with the trial. The indoor gateway and outdoor antenna will be removed, and the small antenna mounting hardware will remain in place to ensure integrity of the install site.   

 

What is the small antenna mounting hardware, and what are its dimensions?

The mounting hardware is a small, compact bracket designed to securely hold the external antenna in place.   

 

 

What is Centercode, and how does it relate to this trial? 

Centercode is a platform that helps manage user trials.  It allows customers to learn more about the trial, access support materials, and provide feedback directly to T-Mobile.   

 

Who is Asurion, and how do they relate to this trial?  

Asurion is a T-Mobile Authorized Installer responsible for installing and uninstalling the trial equipment.  

 

Am I eligible for the trial if I have an HOA? 

Yes, participants who received an invitation from T-Mobile are still eligible for the trial if they have an HOA. Participants are responsible for getting any necessary HOA approvals before the trial equipment is installed.  

 

Can I move the test equipment to a different location inside or outside my house?  

The external antenna should not be moved after it’s installed. The indoor gateway can be moved however, it is recommended to keep it at the original setup location to ensure participants receive the best possible home internet experience.   

 

What do I do with my existing Home Internet gateway while I’m participating in the trial? Can I keep it online? 

During the trial, participants are asked to use the trial equipment as their primary internet service.  
They can keep their current home internet gateway unplugged and stored safely throughout the trial.   

When the trial ends, participants can reconnect their original gateway to resume their regular Home Internet service.  

 

What if I need to withdraw from the trial early? 

We understand that circumstances may change. If participants need to withdraw from the trial early, simply call (833) 421-4420 to schedule a time to remove the trial equipment.  

 

How will feedback be collected during the trial?  

Trial participants will receive periodic surveys during the trial through this website, Centercode, on things like their installation experience and how their internet and the equipment are performing.   

 

What data will you be collecting during the trial? Will any of my personal information be collected?  

Privacy is important to us, and we won’t track or store any information about trial participants’ personal internet usage or browsing history.  
 
Participants need to provide their name, phone number, email address and home address to schedule the equipment install. During the trial, the network team will monitor the internet and collect data performance metrics like data speeds and latency to measure how the trial equipment is performing.
